2012 Opel Astra GTC OPC

The Opel Astra GTC was snapped again, and this time in OPC shape. The OPC is given away by the big air intake in the front bumper, the Brembo brakes (are those ceramic brakes?) and the very lightweight looking new alloys.

It also has a different and sportier sound then the other GTC we have seen, which will be normal with more power under the hood.
It could be that the normal Astra GTC will be displayed in Paris, but however the OPC also will stand there is not clear.

Here are the latest spy photos of the Opel Astra GTC. We had some earlier both with and without cammo but this is the first time the prototype is driving outside the facility. And the very first trip went to the Nurburgring where these photos are taken. Tomorrow they will do some laps on the track, waiting for track photos and videos.

Some spy shots of the Opel Astra Sports Coupe, showing some photos of a camoflagued car as well as a totally uncovered one.

On the uncovered one we can clearly see all the lines of the side, especially the shoulder line going from the door handle and following back over the rear fender.

The 2011 Astra Sports Coupe will be unveiled in Paris during September this year.

Here they are the very first spy photos of the Opel/Vauxhall Astra SportsTourer. We have been waiting for signs of it for the whole winter, and suddenly it pops out wearing only light camouflage. And it’s looking really good to. Unlike the Insignia ST the rear trunk is not opening up as much so that the rear lights will follow, on the Astra ST it’s more conventional with the rear lights splitted. Interior will be the same as on the 5 door hatch as well as the engine options. A hotter GSi version will also follow.

Opel is working on a hotter version of the Astra, the Astra GSi. And this prototype is the diesel version, probably powered by the 2.0 liter twin-turbo engine delivering some 190 horsepower. So how do we know it’s a GSi and not an OPC?

Well, as we looked inside we noticed the GSi sign on the gearstick and at the same moment when I was making a photo of it the crazy test driver came out and pushed me away. His colleague stood in the way while the driver was covering up the interior. But was able to see the rev counter to notice it was a diesel. Bumper has changes compared to the normal Astra, and the big exhaust pipe on each side is also an improvement. The event hotter OPC version will follow later on with a more aggressive front bumper and of course more power.
